The scent of fresh jasmine flowers lingered in the air as I stood by the entrance of our house, adjusting my bag and glancing at the time. Today is going to be different. Dad had insisted me to join his company, with him ,just like all my older cousins. But unlike them, I knew what it felt like to be trapped by the expectations of family legacy. I love my father deeply, but I have dreams that didn't rely on his name. I don't want people to see me as a someone who built her on her dad's name.
